Stadium Bowl adjacent to
the city’s impressive Chateauesque-style Stadium High School,
was one of the world’s largest outdoor stadiums when it opened
in 1909.
Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Warren Harding,
John Philip Sousa, Babe Ruth,
and other celebrities enthusiastically accepted invitations to appear
at the bowl.
